  1. Depends on which version of the Obelisk as it went through multiple iterations over the course of the four Tiberium Wars. Swarming them works on the original Tiberium Dawn and Sun Obelisks, but the Obelisks deployed during the Third Tiberium Wars were capable of a secondary firing mode against infantry that swept a lower-power beam back and forth, rendering infantry swarms ineffective.
  2. You never see enough Command and Conquer crossovers, especially with Xander. I have seen one C&C crossover and that is a Halloween fic. For this challenge Xander must become an important figure in the C&C series, either through dressing up as a character on Halloween or being tossed into that dimension. In the dimension case he could become one.

An Obelisk of Light is an immense structure that shoots lasers at ground targets. For a time, a single sweep could devastate squads of infantry and destroy tanks. In a single sweep. It has pretty long range, and easily destroys battleships.Good heavens, I hope they don't have any Tiberium stored in there.

Earth Bet is already f'ed up enough without adding the disaster that is Tiberium. Click to expand. Later on during the Fourth Tiberium Wars, Nod recovered a CABAL Obelisk of Darkness from the GDI and developed the DS-7 Obelisk of Light, which lost the sweeping ability but gained the ability to target aircraft and could be upgraded with a Prism focusing crystal, allowing its lasers to 'chain' across multiple units within the target zone. The Obelisks deployed during the third wars could also be charged by Beam Cannons, drastically increasing their rate of fire and effective range.

The DS-7 Obelisks could instead channel their beams into each other, allowing a single Obelisk to strike with the firepower of multiple Obelisks and potentially making them the most powerful conventional weapon in the war.Judging by the description, this is probably a 'first generation' Tiberium Dawn Obelisk. The Obelisk in the second picture is like half the size of the one in the first picture, and the third seems even larger than the first. To make matters even more confusing, I'm fairly sure that C&C canon explicitly states that Obelisks come in multiple sizes, depending on circumstances. Considering an Obelisk is at it's core just a massive pile of capacitors topped with a laser focusing array, variable size makes sense: In Renegade there are even hand-held Obelisk laser weapons, though they apparently never left the prototype stage of development due to just not being cost-effective.

I have no clue, scale is all over the place due to game mechanics. In Renegade for example, Obelisks are gigantic, like four or five stories tall. Even using materials from Tiberium Dawn alone, Obelisks are shown at inconsistent sizes:To make matters even more confusing, I'm fairly sure that C&C canon explicitly states that Obelisks come in multiple sizes, depending on circumstances.

Life's been kicking my ass recently. A close friend just lost her father and I've been supporting her, my family's been dealing with financial troubles, and I had a resurgence of depression-based lethargy. But I'm finally biting the bullet and forcing myself to get back to work. I know I'll feel better when I create something, but of course there's always that voice in the back of my head that tells me it won't be good enough and will only disappoint everyone.Still, I think you'd rather have something of poor quality than nothing at all. Perfection is the mortal enemy of completion.

So I'm starting work on Peace Through Power once again, I'll finally be compiling a reply on the idea of custom short stories as Patreon rewards, and we'll see where things go from there.
