  • I found a bari sax on ebay and it's listed as a Noblet Baritone Saxophone. Are they any good? Is it worth buying for few hundred bucks or is it worth more of my time if I get a new bari sax (Martin, Selmer Mark, etc.) for more? It's is a: Noblet Paris France Bari Sax Made in France. The serial number is: 1154. The year is: Doesn't have year on it.

Serial number is 2122 A. Dennis W's Noblet DN, # 5696B was purchased new from Sherman Clay in Seattle around January 1957. James writes that serial # 31107 was from 1964 or a somewhat before.

All the pads are brand new and the keys andsprings all work well. There is some wear that one might expect from a 50+ year old instrument in its’original lacquer, but there are no dents or significant dings. (See photos.)The manufacture date is impossible to determine, butgiven the 14222 serial number it suggests that this saxophone was made in the early 60s or late 50s.Includes neck strap and mouthpiece.The hard-shell case is made by King and has a few minor exteriormarks. The owner of this lovely clarinet recounts that it was purchased in the 1940’s from the owner ofThe barrel, upper and lower joints all have the logo with the “D” in the lyre above the oval (as shown in the first two photos) which the website shows the logo as an “Early Model 40”. The bell however has a slightly different logo, without the “D” in the lyre as show in the last two photos.This clarinet is ready to be playedan excellent upgrade from a plastic clarinet to this fine old wooden clarinet.
