How To Resize Screen Image To Fit Monitor Jul 30, 2015I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7; the image that is displayed has never fit the size of the monitor (technically it's a TV, but whatever). I always would use Nvidia Control Panel to resize the image to fit the monitor, but it wasn't updated for Windows 10 (or 8 for that matter), so there is about an inch border of the screen that I can't see. I have a Nvidia GTS 450 graphics card. I was wondering if there is some way that I could resize the image or not. I also tried to go under display settings, but for whatever reason, the section where I can change the resolution is greyed out.Similar Messages:Jul 31, 2015Here is the problem I have experienced for the on-screen keyboard (with or without tablet mode),- When the on-screen keyboard comes up, the windows will not automatically resize to make way.
The Keyboard will end up covering the window. (In Windows 8.1, all windows will resize.) (In Windows 10, only Store App and Microsoft Edge knows how to resize.) Mar 5, 2016Why doesn't Windows provide the location of the spotlight lock screen image? I really wish they would. Any one else see an image and wonder the physical location of the image? Dec 4, 2015I upgraded to Windows 10. The entire screen shows up in about 75% of my monitor with the rest black.
It's not that the fonts are too small, it's just that it makes my monitor look a lot smaller and I cannot seem to get it to fill up the entire monitor like Windows 8. Jul 30, 2015How to change the login screen image? I'm not talking about the lock screen, which is the first screen to show up when you start your computer, I'm talking about the one where you actually enter your password. Aug 17, 2015So I'm having a minor issue where my Windows 10 lock screen image keeps reverting back to one of the default ones Microsoft provides located in C:Windowsweb.
Windows Resizes When Monitor Turned Off. Question asked by rbamford on Sep 20. (ASUS) R7360 card installed; turning the monitor off causes all open windows to resize.
The image it keeps selecting is Image 101. It seems to happen on my Surface 3 while charging over night. Aug 1, 2015My screen won't fit my monitor, the time on the bottom right is off my screen. It's like its zoomed in too much. Specs: AMD r7 260x AMD fx-6300 Not sure if anything else matters. Nov 22, 2015I was wondering where the login screen background image is stored? I'm trying to change it to a different image Jul 30, 2015I am currently unable to set a lock screen background image (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit).
When on the Lock Screen customization window, it is pretty bare with no images to choose from. Browsing and choosing any image results in nothing happening and it does not add it (refer to LockScreen image attached). If I try to set it when viewing any image it has the error 'Can't set as lock screen. Make sure the file isn't damaged and try again.' (refer to PhotoSet image attached).
Also note that the Slideshow option is not in the dropdown either. Some background on this is probably needed, so here's what has happened/been done:In Windows 8.1 I customized the default lock screen to a custom image using the guide at URL (the manual method/Option 2). Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 10 and it set the lock screen to a basic color.
Then the fun started.1. Lock Screen customization appeared normal/functional. Tried choosing a different image or custom image. It would appear set, but lock screen would not change (even after reboot).2. Tried troubleshooting by taking the same actions as in Windows 8.1.
Did the same actions for the new folders that Windows 10 uses in the%ProgramData%MicrosoftWindowsSystemData folder (deleted the images within the lettered folder(s)).3. Checked every Registry Key I found mention of when searching online (none needing to be changed).4. I renamed the SystemData folder as a website recommended. Windows did make a new, fresh copy. However this is what kicked it over to the state I am in now. Restoring the old folder did no good.5. Before coming here I did one last thing.
I ran sfc /scannow. It claimed the img100 was corrupt and replaced it, but nothing changed. What I can do to restore the functionality of the Lock Screen customization without reinstalling Windows? Note that I am not trying to change the logon screen background.even though I would love to do that too. Other than this issue everything is running great/perfect.
Aug 26, 2015I can't remember when and how this started, but definitely after upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Pro.So, my screen (Acer LCD, connected to GTX 560 with 1 meter DVI cable) started going black (power light on, background light completely off) when I watched a video that had lot of dark on it. Happens in some games as well where the cut scenes change.I tested it by full screening a plain black image and the screen went to sleep, mouse cursor dissapeared.Moving the mouse does not wake up the screen, only when i press Win key to bring up some color to the screen. (the task bar seems to be enough to wake the screen.)I have checked all the power settings and turned off all the sleep settings, 'Turn off display after' is set to 'Never' 'Multimedia settings' are set to ' Prevent idling ' and 'Optimize video quality' Jul 30, 2015For some reason I can't seem to figure out I can not change the size of the screen on my monitor. I have tried everything in personalization and display settings. Nothing is working.
I have looked online and can not find answers there either. Aug 15, 2015I cant change the size of my screen to fit my monitor! Ive looked everywhere it just keeps taking me to resolution size. Aug 4, 2015I am unable to resize windows in Windows 10. My only two choices seem to be to make the window full size, or to minimize it. The middle of the three buttons in the right hand corner does not work.
I also do not get the little arrows at the edge of each window that enable one to resize. Sep 7, 2015I regularly print pages from a website, & with IE I was able to re-size the document to 95%, 85% etc to use less paper.
I can't do this with Microsoft Edge-it doesn't give me any options to re-size the document for printing? Is there an option I am missing? Sep 24, 2015I resize the task bar to large, cant remember how to change it back Aug 8, 2015Since upgrading to Win 10, I have a couple of issues. Note Pad.it fills the entire screen and it won't resize. Whole screen or minimized.that's the extent of Note Pad. The calculator is the same.full screen only. I worked around that by downloading the win 7 calculator.
Oct 30, 2015So I used a AWESOME custom picture for my lockscreen. I look at it so much, I realized I wanted it as my desktop. Only one problem.I cant find the damn picture! Where I put it on my computer.

Shouldn't windows be maintaining a copy of the file somewhere? WHAT CAN I DO? Apr 15, 2015Windows spotlight under the lock screen settings set a picture for me that I'd like to make permanent. Unfortunately it will change when the new windows spotlight picture is sent out. What is the save location of this image file so I can set it as my permanent lock screen picture?
Jul 29, 2015I just updated to Windows 10 and already having problems. I have a dual monitor setup and back on windows 8, both monitors had a good display. Now on windows 10, my main monitor has a blurry or less quality compared to my second monitor.
It was always fine until I switched windows. Nov 19, 2015I installed Win 10 on a new pc I built. Its working ok except twice when I turned the pc on all the icons had shifted to the left side of the monitor screen. Normally I group the icons into groups that are alike. When they snap to the left it is a mess. Is this a problem with Win 10? Is there a way I can get them back to groups without doing it one icon at a time?
Sep 7, 2015I have a acer Z5600 and use an acer AL1916W as an additional monitor which worked fine with Windows 7, since I upgraded to windows 10 my second monitor does not work and my main screen just goes black. Aug 19, 2015Now have two 1' black bars on monitor. Am not a computer wizard - just switch and use.
Aug 15, 2015i upgraded my windows from 8.1 to 10.evrything seems fine but when i launch my games it won't run.i run dxdiag then i noticed that my intel vga and nvidia 840M's driver were uninstalled. I open the ASUS installer and installed my display driver.when i reboot, the screen goes black with the mouse cursor in it after ASUS logo.3 leds were lit.the hdd led is blinking. I reboot several times and hit F8, unfortunately nothing happened.
Aug 15, 2015I downloaded Windows 10 on release and despite its flaws, I actually like it.I am finding an issue with Explorer though. I've noticed that the preview image icon for folders doesn't resize itself to fit within the folder preview section, so if the image I want to show as a preview on that folder icon is tiny, it'll show as being tiny in the preview with loads of blank space around it, for larger images it does seem to fit in, though if the image is longer than it is wide than it'll cut the bottom bit off. This wasn't the case in previous versions of Windows and I presume it can be tweaked in the registry.I'm using a 4K monitor and Microsoft have improved the scaling in this OS, but it's still not exactly brilliant. Third party software is the main culprit tbf. Dec 10, 2015Every Time I try and 'Save' a KS Writer Doc' the 'Save to Folder' that opens Has Just Got Bigger and Now it s 'Sized itself' to Nearly Full Screen Size and I cannot Size it Or Move It Eg I Right Click on Top of the Folder Drop Down Menu Say s Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize or Close, I cannot Re Size the 'Folder Perimeter' Nothing Happen. Feb 3, 2016Recently I've changed my Mobo, CPU and RAM. Installed Windows 8 Pro Retail and upgraded to Windows 10 Pro.
Worked perfectly and no problemsBut I've noticed that if I need to restart the system I will get the usual Blue screen saying 'Restarting', this will then goto a Black screen.Nothing happens after the black screen, I never see my BIOS image or any text whatsoever (Which I usually see on a normal boot). IF I then press and hold the power button to force shutdown the computer and then press it again it will perform a normal boot, I see the BIOS Image etc.
Windows Resize When Monitor Turned Off Windows 10
I often drag a window from one monitor (A) to the other monitor (B). If I try to do this at a reasonable speed, the windows snags on the edge of the monitor (A) and can't be dragged to the other monitor. You essentially have to drag the window really quickly for it not to snag, and more often than not it snags because I'm not moving the window quick enough.I have to tried disabling snapping altogether on Windows, because DisplayFusion has a Window Snapping feature, but when I disable it on Windows it appears to also disable the same functionality DisplayFusion uses. With the exception of the 'Enable maximized window dragging between monitors' which does still work when then Windows 10 snap is disabled, thankfully. It's a Windows 10 issue clearly, although I was hoping there might be a fix? Either by editing the registry or a way to override Window's 10 snapping with DisplayFusion's?Many thanks. Hey i'm a little late here, but i'm having a similar (possibly the same) problem.Since i installed windows 10, whenever i drag a window from monitor to monitor it snags on the edge of the screen.
I disabled the option from the ease of access settings and it no longer snags, but now instead when i try, my screen darkens and i see the huge '1' and '2' at the centre of my monitors.I'm pretty bad at trying to explain what i mean. But before on windows 7: When i dragged a window it would become smaller/un-maximized, i could lay the window in the middle, spanning across both monitors if i wished, and dragging the window to the top of my screen would re-maximize it.This is no longer the case, it's just like 'hey here's a full screen, where dya want it? 1 or 2'Hopefully a solution turns up eventually:D I had no idea how much i relied on this until recently. I had to disable the first option as well in the Windows 10 Multitasking configuration. This must be the result of the latest update.they did do some major changes apparently. I never had a problem with this until after the update. I don't think I was moving windows from monitor to monitor any slower than normal. YEs, you can drag them real fast across the edge of the monitor to get it across with this feature in place, but the only way to allow you to do this at any speed was to disable all 4 Snap config options.Eric.
My Monitor Turned Off
I have had the same problem for several months after I added a second monitor. StuartM Led me to do some tests - I asked myself about how a cheap mouse is different than an expensive one. One major change is the polling rate of the mouse. I have a razer naga hex V2 mouse that can dynamically change the polling rate. So I decided to test that with the window snapping.

Sure enough, If I set the polling rate really low (125) the issue goes away. At 500, the issue is there, but manageable - you still have to move the windows pretty fast between monitors, but not ludicrous speed. At 1000 the issue is very bad and you basically have to move the mouse as fast as you can between windows or snapping will stick it to the original window. Hopefully somebody @ microsoft reads this and fixes the issue.
Windows Resize When Monitor Turned Off Screen
I've spent a ton of time wrestling with this issue, and I don't think it's related to Windows Snap features. It's possible to have your monitors aligned in display settings where they APPEAR to be perfectly adjacent, but actually aren't - there's a pixel or two of dead space between them. You can use the arrow keeps to move the monitors around (in the display settings screen) which sometimes helps. I just discovered that if you hold shift when pressing the arrow keys, it seems to move the monitors in very small (single pixel?) increments, which finally did the trick. Also, when using the arrow keys to relocate your monitors, one monitor can 'push' another monitor, but it can't push two, so if you have three monitors in a horizontal row, you should try pushing the outside monitors towards the center one.Attached is an image with examples.

Top is my setup, 2nd one is after I moved monitor 1 with Shift + Right Arrow, and bottom is after I moved monitor 1 with Right Arrow (no shift).Hope it helps! APPLICATION OPEN IN FULL SCREEN COULD NOT BE DRAGGED TO ANOTHER MONITORI know this thread is old but this was a recent problem for me. I also spent excess time on this annoying problem, a lot of different attempts at settings. Not being able to drag aopen application when it was full size was such a time waster. This 'feature' started a couple of months ago after a 'dreaded' win 10 update.
Lcs's solution posted above 'magically' worked for me.To get to those settings I used left-click to access display settings, then multitaking.
